Australia Does Not Impose Anti-Dumping Duties on Hot-Rolled Reinforcing Steel Products from Vietnam

Australia Không Áp Thuế Chống Bán Phá Giá Đối Với Sản Phẩm Thép Cốt Bê Tông Cán Nóng Từ Việt Nam

On December 16, 2025, the Australian Anti-Dumping Commission (ADC) issued a Notice regarding the partial termination of an anti-dumping investigation into imported hot-rolled reinforcing steel bar products from several countries, including Vietnam.

1. Specific Results for Vietnam

The ADC concluded that the dumping margin of a Vietnamese enterprise was less than 2% of the weighted average export price, which is considered negligible under Australian law. Therefore, the ADC decided to terminate the investigation and not impose anti-dumping duties on this enterprise.

2. Status of the Overall Investigation

The investigation continues for other exporters and countries on the list of investigated parties.

The ADC expects to submit its final report to the Minister for Industry and Innovation, who is also the Minister for Science of Australia, no later than December 18, 2025.

The applicant (InfraBuild company) has the right to file an application requesting a review of this termination decision with the Anti-Dumping Review Panel within 30 days from the date the notice is published.

3. Recommendations from the Trade Remedies Department

  • Continue to closely monitor subsequent developments in the case, especially the possibility of an appeal from the applicant.
  • Proactively cooperate and be ready to provide additional information to Australian investigating authorities upon request.
  • Coordinate closely with the Trade Remedies Authority to exchange information and respond in case there are new developments in the case.
