On August 13, 2026, the Plant Protection Sub-Department of Region I issued Official Letter No. 365/CV-KDI on the implementation of regulations on decentralization of state inspection of food safety for imports.
Below are the key points to note:
- Change in authority: From 01/09/2026, state inspection of food safety for imported plant-origin goods will be transferred from the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment to provincial/municipal management agencies (in accordance with Circular 22/2026/TT-BNNMT).
- Support for businesses: Detailed information and the contact phone numbers of focal-point officers will be publicly posted at the one-stop service sections of the Plant Protection Divisions/Stations to promptly address businesses’ issues.
